Description

Get ready for the ultimate indulgence with these EASY Loaded Cheese Fries — crispy fries smothered in melty cheese sauce, bacon, jalapeños, and more!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (32 oz) packages frozen French fries
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter (4 tbsp)
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1½ cups Sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded and divided
  • 1½ cups Colby Jack cheese, shredded and divided
  • 8 oz processed cheese, such as Velveeta®, cubed
  • ½ cup hot sauce
  • 6 chicken tenders, cooked and chopped
  • 1 lb bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 3 jalapeños, sliced
  • ½ cup green onions, chopped
  • Ranch Dressing for drizzling, optional

Instructions

  1. Cook fries as directed on the package, until crispy. You can choose to bake, air-fry, or deep fry your french fries depending on your preference.
  2. In a large skillet or saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour; cook and stir for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk. Make sure to stir frequently until the sauce is thickened.
  3. Add ½ cup of the Cheddar Cheese, ½ cup of Colby Jack Cheese, and the cubed Velveeta, stirring until the sauce is smooth and the cheese is melted. Remove from the heat and whisk in the hot sauce (optional).
  4. Remove the fries from the oven, air-fryer, or deep fryer. Preheat the broiler in your oven to high. Place half of your fries on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil or in a cast iron. Begin layering your fries with cheese sauce, chicken tenders, bacon, jalapenos, and the remaining shredded cheese. Repeat this process with the other half of the fries.
  5. Broil for 1 to 2 minutes or just until the shredded cheese is bubbly. Top with some extra sliced jalapeños and chopped green onions. Drizzle with Ranch Dressing to serve and enjoy!

Notes

These cheese fries are best enjoyed fresh, but you can prep the cheese sauce and toppings ahead of time to save effort on game day!
